Sweet, Sour and Smokey Mustard Sauce Olive Slaw

I love coleslaw and so I am constantly creating new versions of this traditional American casual salad. This one got a thumbs-up from the crowd at Fischer & Wieser.

Prep Time:  15-20 minutes
Chill Time; 1-24 hours

3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons Fischer & Wieser Sweet, Sour and Smokey Mustard Sauce
4 green onions, minced, including green tops
1 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon red (cayenne) pepper
1 (16-ounce) pkg. shredded coleslaw mix with carrots and red cabbage
1 (4-ounce) jar marinated artichoke hearts, drained and coarsely chopped
1/2 cup halved pimento-stuffed green olives
1/2 cup sliced ripe olive

Combine the olive oil, vinegar, Fischer & Wieser Sweet, Sour and Smokey Mustard Sauce, green onions, sugar, and red (cayenne) pepper in a large bowl; whisk to blend well. Add the coleslaw mix, artichoke hearts and olive, toss to coat all ingredients with the dressing. Cover and chill for at least an hour before serving. Slaw may be prepared up to 24 hours before serving. Makes about 8 cups. Serves 16

Fischer & Wieser’s Sweet, Sour and Smokey Mustard Sauce Coleslaw

This exotic and innovative coleslaw is the perfect side dish for your backyard barbecues. It’s a great one to serve to those folks who protest, saying “I don’t really care for coleslaw”.  One taste of the complex flavor combinations in this quick and easy slaw and they’re hooked on coleslaw – Fischer & Wieser-style!

Prep Time:  20-30 minutes
Chill Time:  1-24 hours

  • 1 small head Savoy cabbage, shredded
  • 1 cup very thinly sliced red cabbage
  • 1 cup garlic-flavored salad croutons, ground fine
  • 8 green onions, sliced thin, including green tops
  • 1/2 cup Fischer & Wieser Sweet, Sour and Smokey Mustard Sauce
  • 1/2 cup real mayonnaise
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons Tabasco Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Toss the shredded Savoy cabbage, red cabbage, ground croutons and green onions in a large bowl, blending well. In a separate bowl whisk together the Fischer & Wieser Sweet, Sour and Smokey Mustard Sauce, mayonnaise, Tabasco and black pepper until smooth. Stir the sauce mixture into the cabbage slaw with a large spoon until all dry ingredients are coated with the dressing. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Serves 6-8

Cowboy Coleslaw with Roasted Raspberry Chipotle Sauce

Here’s a delicious coleslaw that proves our claim that the Fischer & Wieser The Original Roasted Raspberry Chipotle Sauce® is good on or in just about anything!

Prep Time: 15-20 minutes
Chill Time:  1-24 hours

Coleslaw:

  • 1 large package prepared coleslaw mix
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 medium tomato, finely diced
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons minced flat leaf parsley

Dressing:

  • 2/3 cup real mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon whole-grain mustard
  • 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons red wine vinegar
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons white wine vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Fischer & Wieser The Original Roasted Raspberry Chipotle Sauce®
  • 3/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon dried dill weed
  • Salt to taste

Combine all coleslaw ingredients in a large bowl; toss to mix well and set aside. Make the dressing by combining all ingredients in a medium bowl. Whisk until smooth and well blended. Pour the dressing over the slaw and toss to coat thoroughly. Chill until ready to serve. Serves 6–8

Olive Cole Slaw

Tired of regular old coleslaw? Bored by that old mayonnaise-based dressing and plain old green cabbage. Wait ’til you try this zesty version, chock full of flavorful goodies.
