Pretzel Dipping Mustard & Bacon Potato Salad

Potato salad is always perfect for summer cookouts, but the applewood smoked bacon combined with our Fischer & Wieser Pretzel Dipping Mustard, gives this one a zippy spark that’ll have everyone asking for seconds! It’s not the same-old, same-old, that’s for sure!

Prep Time: 30 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes

  • 7-8 large potatoes, peeled and halved
  • 3 hard boiled eggs, cooled and chopped
  • 1-1/2 to 2 cups Fischer & Wieser Pretzel Dipping Mustard
  • ½ to ¾ cups purple onion, chopped fine
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped fine\
  • 6 slices applewood smoked bacon, cooked until crisp, then crumbled
  • ½ teaspoon salt (optional)
  • freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Peel potatoes; cut into fourths. Place in large saucepan and cover to 1 inch above level of potatoes with water. Bring water to a boil; reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender, approximately 15 minutes. Drain potatoes; cool in ice water bath. Cut potatoes into bite-sized pieces. Place in large bowl. Add all other ingredients. Mix gently. Chill until ready to serve. Serves 8-10

Sweet, Sour & Smokey Mustard Hoagies

Need a great way to use up leftover ham or smoked turkey? These great hoagies fill the bill!

Prep time: 10-15 minutes
Broil time:  10 minutes

  • 4 hoagie buns, sliced lengthwise
  • 8 ounces ham or smoked turkey, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup Fischer & Wieser Sweet, Sour & Smokey Mustard Sauce
  • 4 slices Pepper Jack cheese
  • 1 small can sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup diced green onion
  • 4 large leaves Romaine or Bibb lettuce
  • 1 tomato, thinly sliced

Set oven to broil (500 degrees F.) Place hoagies on baking sheet, buns open. Spread inside surfaces with Fischer & Wieser Sweet, Sour & Smokey Mustard Sauce. Layer ham or smoked turkey, black olives, green onions and cheese on buns; broil until cheese is melted, approximately 10 minutes. Add Romaine or Bibb lettuce leaves and tomato slices. Serves 4

Brat Haus Beer Mustard Braised Smoked Sausage

Bock beer is generally a seasonal product, emerging in the spring, an especially great time to enjoy this recipe! Combining the flavor of the beer with our tasty Brat Haus Beer Mustard is just the spark needed to get over the winter doldrums.

Prep Time:  5 minutes
Cook Time:  25-30 minutes

Cut the sausage into ½- inch thick rounds; set aside. Heat the canola oil in a heavy 12 inch skillet over medium heat. When the oil is hot, add the sausage. Cook, stirring often, until sausage is lightly browned and has rendered its fat, about 10 minutes. Carefully pour off all fat from the skillet. Return skillet with sausage to medium heat and add the beer, scraping the bottom of the skillet to remove all browned bits of meat glaze. Stir in the Fischer & Wieser Brat Haus Beer Mustard , blending well. Cook, stirring often, until the liquid has reduced to a glaze, about 15 minutes. Serve hot. Serves 4

Roast Beef Sandwich with Sweet Heat Mustard Dippin’ Sauce

What‘re you gonna’ fix when time is short and the guys (and gals) are starvin’? This fantastic hoagie’s the answer, with our Fischer & Wieser Sweet Heat Mustard to the rescue! You’ll want to keep it on hand for all kinds of sandwiches after you taste this!

Prep Time:  10 minutes
Cook Time:  2-4 minutes

  • ¼-1/2 cups mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup Fischer & Wieser Sweet Heat Mustard
  • 6 hoagie buns, split
  • 1-1/2 to 2 pounds deli sliced roast beef
  • 2 tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 12 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 small can sliced black olives
  • salt and pepper to taste

Mix mayonnaise and Fischer & Wieser Sweet Heat Mustard together. Cut rolls in half.  Place on a baking sheet. Spread rolls with mayonnaise and Fischer & Wieser Sweet Heat Mustard mixture. Layer with roast beef, tomato, red onion,  Provolone, black olives, and salt and pepper.  Broil 3 to 6 inches from heat source for 2 to 4 minutes (keep a constant eye on it) until cheese is bubbly and beginning to brown. Serve with extra mayonnaise and Fischer & Wieser Sweet Heat Mustard mixture as dippin’ sauce.  Serves 6

Sweet Heat Mustard & Bacon Creamed Smashed Potatoes

Talk about your comfort food—this potato dish is definitely it! Try with a side of ham or brisket—trust me, these “Smashed Potatoes” will steal the show!

Prep Time:  20 minutes
Cook Time:  20 minutes

  • 2-1/2 pounds small red new potatoes, unpeeled, quartered
  • ½ cup Fischer & Wieser Sweet Heat Mustard
  • ½ cup whipping cream
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 6 slices applewood-smoked bacon, cooked until crisp, then crumbled
  • 1-2 teaspoons sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • parsley sprigs for garnish

Place the unpeeled potato quarters in a heavy 6-quart saucepan. Add cold water to cover and bring to a boil over medium high heat. Simmer until potatoes are very soft, about 20 minutes. While potatoes are cooking, combine the Fischer & Wieser Sweet Heat Mustard, whipping cream, melted butter and crumbled bacon in a medium sized bowl. Whisk to blend well; set aside. Drain the potatoes in a colander and immediately return them to the pan. Using a potato masher, smash the potatoes, leaving them a little chunky. Stir in the mustard mixture, blending well. Add salt and black pepper to taste. Serve hot. Garnish with parsley sprigs. Serves 6 to 8

Sausage Wraps with Brat Haus Beer Mustard

Anyone for sausage wraps? You will be when you try them with Fischer & Wieser Brat Haus Beer Mustard slathered on them! Can you say gemutlickheit?

Prep Time:  5 minutes
Grill Time:  20 minutes

Whether you’re planning a get-together, or just need a quick lunch or dinner, you can’t go wrong with these wraps! If you don’t choose to grill these,  just pop the sausages in the microwave and heat for 2-3 minutes, heat the tortillas for 30 seconds, and they’re ready!

Preheat gas or char grill. Grill sausages until thoroughly heated, approximately 20 minutes (10 minutes/side). Remove sausages or brats from grill; place on warm pie plate; cover with foil. Place flour tortillas on grill and warm. To serve, place one sausage or brat on each flour tortilla. Slather generously with Fischer & Wieser Brat Haus Beer Mustard. Roll up tortilla and serve.  Serves 6
