From Dianna Wara, Washington, IL, 1st place winner in our 2010 Summer Grilling Recipe Contest.
Prep Time: 20 min
Grill Time: 10-15 min
- 1 (12-inch) prepared pizza crust
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon poppy seeds
- 4 ounces pasteurized prepared cheese product, cubed
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 2/3 cup Mom’s Special Marinara Sauce
- 2.5 ounce deli roast beef, cut paper thin and sliced into 1/4 inch strips
- 1/2 cup green pepper, small diced
- 1/3 cup red onions, small diced
- 1 cup smoked provolone or smoked mozzarella cheese, shredded
Preheat grill on medium-high heat (10-15 minutes). Brush the rim of the pizza crust with olive oil and sprinkle on the poppy seeds evenly around the rim. In a microwave-safe bowl, add pasteurized prepared cheese product and red pepper flakes. Melt in microwave until melted. Stir and then spread the cheese mix evenly over pizza crust, avoiding rim. In a medium sized bowl, mix the Mom’s Special Marinara Sauce and roast beef strips together. Spread saucy roast beef evenly over the top of the pizza crust. Next, layer green peppers, onions, and smoked provolone or smoked mozzarella cheese. Place pizza on grill and close lid. Cook for 10-15 minutes or until cheese has melted and bottom crust is gold in color. Remove from grill, slice and serve! 6-8 slices
